Informed Sources was a primary force in Philadelphia's music scene
during the 1980s. Sprung from blunt punk rock origins, the group
quickly grew artistically, pushing the boundaries of "punk" with a
literate approach to lyrics and thoughtful-but-powerful arrangements,
while sharing stages with legendary bands ranging from Black Flag
and X to Dead Kennedys and Bad Brains.
